In a meeting with Reserve Bank of India governor Sanjeev Malhotra they discussed expanding local‑currency settlement mechanisms, establishing bilateral currency swap arrangements and linking cross‑border QR‑code payments; Malhotra said those steps would help convert BRICS agreements into practical financial and economic cooperation.
