The U.S.-Iran conflict has disrupted global fuel supplies and pushed U.S. diesel to record highs: $5.85/gal on Sept. 4 and a nationwide average of $6.05/gal on Sept. 11, AAA data show. Paul Mitchell, professor of agricultural and applied economics at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, said the surge is sharply compressing farm profits by raising fuel and transport costs across harvesting, on-farm handling and shipments to market.

Mehr news agency reports Speaker Ghalibaf has submitted the "National AI Development Law" to the president for implementation. The bill, containing 12 articles and eight notes, was reported by the Industry and Mine Committee, passed in an open parliamentary session and approved by the Guardian Council. Under Article 2, the law would establish a National AI Organization to organize and develop the AI ecosystem; it would serve as an independent agency and as the secretariat to a national steering committee, operate under the president, use only existing facilities, budgets and personnel, and comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Sultan Al-Arada, a member of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council and governor of Marib, said government forces that withdrew from the western coast are regrouping in Marib and will return to the battlefield. He called the western coast setback “painful and unfortunate,” blamed the Houthi movement for stalling the peace process and “forcing the return of war options.” Al-Arada said government troops remain engaged on multiple fronts and still aim to retake the capital Sana'a; he added the withdrawn units are reorganizing and “will in some form return to fighting.”
