Oman's energy minister said the Strait of Hormuz will reopen but the change may be short-lived. He said Oman can continue oil and gas production and that surging oil and LNG prices are unsustainable and should stabilize in the medium term. He urged diversification of export routes and identification of alternative outlets, including via Oman or Yemen.

Iraq said on the 13th it will begin phased reopenings of three previously closed border crossings with Iran, allowing passenger movement and commercial trade between the 13th and 17th. In recent days drones launched from inside Iraq struck Saudi Arabia’s east–west oil pipelines; Riyadh strongly condemned the attacks. On the 12th Iraq had closed several Iran-border crossings and agreed to Iran’s request for a joint investigation of drone launch platforms found near the shared frontier.
