Guangzhou municipal government office issued a marine-economy 15th Five-Year
plan targeting marine GDP to exceed 730 billion yuan by 2030 and aiming to build
a modern city with marine characteristics. The plan prioritizes strengthening
marine science & technology innovation and commercialization, accelerating
construction of modern marine industry systems, improving marine resource use
and ecological protection, expanding maritime cooperation, and enhancing marine
services, governance and marine tourism. It sets a 2035 objective to complete a
marine-featured modern city that plays a leading role in national
marine-strength initiatives.
