On the 13th (local time), Israeli Defense Minister Katz said the IDF will continue to hold the Aritashir high ground in southern Lebanon to prevent Hezbollah or any other force from returning and re-establishing positions. Katz said the position is part of what Israel describes as its 'security zone' in southern Lebanon and that Israeli forces will not withdraw or redeploy until Hezbollah is disarmed across Lebanon. He warned anyone approaching the position would be eliminated.
