ceasefire diplomacy saying Washington may be pursuing a 'phased' agreement with
Iran. The source told Erm News that recent Trump comments about the war ending
before or after the US midterms reflect political and military calculations
rather than imminent comprehensive settlement. It said the US would likely
maintain military and economic pressure while keeping channels open to pivot to
staged understandings if a full deal proves elusive. First‑phase measures would
most likely target shipping security and preventing escalation; later phases
could address Iran's nuclear programme, missile capabilities and regional role.
The source cautioned Trump’s remarks should not be read as a signal that
military action will stop, and said Washington may use the coming months to
recalibrate negotiating terms and strengthen its position ahead of broader
talks. The report has not been confirmed by major outlets; oil prices fell on
publication.
