control." It reports tanker AlGaya (IMO 9325336) struck a sea mine and exploded
while attempting to transit a southern no‑go zone in the strait; firefighting
failed and the vessel is on fire. Iran says it had warned vessels passage
carried risk. Whether the blast was caused by a sea mine and the current
navigability of the strait await confirmation from shipping authorities or other
sources.
