Rezai, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said on the early
hours of Sept. 15 that Iran will not enter negotiations unless its conditions
are met and warned against reading mixed signals from the US. He said the
situation around oil and the Strait of Hormuz has changed. President Trump on
Sept. 14 said on social media Iran is “desperate” to reach a deal and that the
US is “open to the idea.”
