China's National Bureau of Statistics said August sales of basic necessities and some upgraded consumer goods rose rapidly. Retail sales at above-designated-size enterprises for beverages, grain and edible oil foods, and communications equipment were up YoY 4.9%, 4.0% and 27.3%, respectively.
