Sept 14, 2026 — Guangdong Electric Power Trading Center Co., Ltd. issued a notice launching the 2026 mechanism electricity-price bidding registration for incremental new-energy projects in Guangdong. Eligible projects: not yet operational but committed to commercial operation within 12 months from the bidding month, have obtained government approval or filing, and are not already within the mechanism’s scope. Utility-scale (centralized) solar PV and onshore wind projects are excluded from the mechanism electricity-price bidding.

Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi said this afternoon IEA Executive Director Birol visited the prime minister's residence, their first meeting since March, and she briefed him on Japan's ongoing policy measures. She said Japan urged free, transparent energy trade, international cooperation on oil reserves and closer producer–consumer cooperation.
