Chinese defence minister Dong Jun on Sept. 15 met in Beijing with visiting
defence ministers from Myanmar, Brunei, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and
Armenia, and with ASEAN Secretary‑General Kao Kim Hourn, on the sidelines of the
13th Beijing Xiangshan Forum. Dong said the forum, founded 20 years ago, has
focused on practical problem‑solving and contributed to global security; he
warned the international security environment is increasingly unstable and
uncertain and said China’s military is willing to work with partners to pursue a
community with a shared future, advance its four global initiatives, deepen
practical security cooperation and jointly address global security challenges to
defend world and regional peace and stability.
