OpenAI is working with rivals Anthropic and Google DeepMind to develop measures
addressing AI safety risks, OpenAI global policy chief Chris Lehane said on
Tuesday. The cooperation, which Lehane said has been under way for weeks, aims
to help the industry respond to rising economic and security concerns linked to
the technology. He said the companies believe coordinating on safety does not
require an antitrust waiver and argued it is better to work together than
compete, citing the aviation industry as a precedent.
