IRNA reported Ghalibaf told the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan chairman that during the '40-day war' some separatist groups operated near Iran's border. He said the US attempted to use Iraqi Kurdistan to mount security and military operations against Iran, but the plot was thwarted with help from regional allies and a timely response by Iran's armed forces.
