At the close, NYMEX October light sweet crude rose $4.44 to settle at $105.83/bbl, a 4.38% gain. ICE Brent November rose $3.07 to settle at $108.75/bbl, up 2.9%.

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei and Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff said enterprise AI deployment remains nascent and requires more support to realize its full value. Speaking at Salesforce’s Dreamforce, Amodei estimated only about 5–10% of AI’s economic value is being captured, leaving significant upside for corporate investment. Benioff said firms show wide variation in AI uptake and need help accelerating digital transformation; Salesforce has integrated Anthropic’s Claude into its product suite. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said AI safety should be driven by market mechanisms, not new regulation, and argued firms can manage risk by pacing development and releasing safer models.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said AI firms do not need an industry-wide pact to slow development when safety risks arise; market pressure will make alignment (ensuring AI systems follow user intent) a competitive advantage. He said trust and alignment are becoming the key differentiators among AI agents and models and warned labs that de-prioritize alignment will fall behind. Zuckerberg cited Meta’s decision to delay the Muse model’s launch by several months to strengthen safety and security measures and said Meta did not ask other firms to do the same.
