China's National Bureau of Statistics issued its statistical reform and
development 15th Five-Year plan, directing a strengthening of comprehensive
consumption statistics: produce province-level estimates for goods and services
retail sales; refine classification and methodology for total retail sales of
consumer goods; expand service-consumption measurement and underlying data
sources and advance regional services retail-sales estimates; enhance monitoring
of new consumption formats and online retail; and improve the household
consumption expenditure survey.
