An internal plan lists 29 deals potentially to be unveiled at a Sept. 23 business event attended by the leader; US firms Murphy Oil and Chevron are expected to sign accords with state oil firm PetroVietnam, and ExxonMobil with Vietnam Refining and Petrochemical Company, the country’s second-largest refiner. The trip is intended to advance US-Vietnam trade talks and could finalize a trade deal negotiated for more than a year, but a meeting with President Trump is not confirmed, the White House said.
