Oman's Maritime Security Centre said on Sept. 15 the tanker Al Ghaya, which suffered an engine-room fire after an attack in the Strait of Hormuz, is being towed to an Omani port; two crew remain missing. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said on Sept. 14 the vessel exploded and caught fire after striking a sea mine while attempting to transit the southern "no-go" area of the strait.

On Sept 16 the Yemeni Houthi movement said Saudi air force F-15s and Eurofighter Typhoons operating from Khamis Mushait and Taif bases have carried out more than 450 airstrikes since the start of the week across Taiz, Lahj, al-Jawf, Hajjah, Marib, Saada and Al Bayda provinces, causing civilian casualties. The statement said Houthi forces used a homemade surface-to-air missile to shoot down a Saudi F-15 over Marib that it said was supporting Saudi force concentrations.
