Sept. 16 — At a regular briefing Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun responded to reports that Taiwan’s foreign affairs head Lin Jialong confirmed plans to open an "office" in Cebu province and to build a Taiwan economic corridor. Guo said the DPP’s efforts to collude with external forces or pursue so‑called diplomatic breakthroughs to serve Taiwan independence are futile and bound to fail, and urged the Philippines to adhere to the One China principle and refrain from actions that would harm China‑Philippines relations.
