AstraZeneca will invest about 200 mln yuan to upgrade its Wuxi production and
supply base with a new drug development and supply building to support process
development and production for its cardiovascular drug candidates and to back
global supply after commercialisation. The 5,800 sq m facility is scheduled to
enter service in Q4 2029 and is expected to have annual capacity of about 400
mln tablets. Upon completion, the Wuxi site will engage in commercial-stage
process development and could become AstraZeneca’s first APAC base capable of
supporting a new drug’s global launch and supply.
