The U.S. State Department told AP it has approved travel for Iranian President PEZESHKIAN and Foreign Minister Araghchi to attend next week’s UN General Assembly high-level meetings in New York. The department said Iran’s core delegation and necessary staff will be allowed to participate but will face travel restrictions and a U.S. policy ban on purchasing luxury and other restricted items; the delegation will be smaller than last year. The decision comes after more than six months of U.S.-Iran conflict, with no material progress on reopening the Strait of Hormuz or restarting Iran nuclear talks. As host of the UN, the U.S. is constrained by host-country obligations and has previously issued limited visas and activity curbs for representatives from conflict parties. The approval follows a separate U.S. visa denial for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas one day earlier.

UBS chairman said the aim is to reach a compromise on capital requirements.
