Politico, citing an unnamed source and a US official, reports President Trump
and Mexican President Sheinbaum spoke Wednesday and are close to resolving
USMCA-related disputes. A source described the call as uneven and said new
issues emerged, while a US official called it constructive; Mexican officials
believe differences are nearing resolution. Negotiations have focused on autos,
steel and aluminum, agriculture, labor and economic security. The fourth formal
negotiating round has been moved to Sept. 28-29 in Washington; both sides said
they made progress after July's third round.
