Putin signed an order on Sept. 17 extending the Western agricultural import ban
under Presidential Decree No. 560 (2014), moving the expiry from Jan. 1, 2027 to
Dec. 31, 2028. The 2014 decree prohibits imports of certain agricultural
products and food from countries that have imposed sanctions on Russia,
including the United States, the EU, Canada, Australia and Norway. Moscow has
repeatedly extended the ban and adjusted the list of covered countries and
goods.
