SoftBank Group increased a margin loan secured by Arm shares by $5 billion to
$25 billion, people familiar with the matter said. The group renegotiated terms
with lenders and signed an agreement this month. It is the third expansion of
the Arm-backed facility as founder Masayoshi Son seeks billions to finance
expanding AI investments, including a near $65 billion commitment to OpenAI.
SoftBank is also pursuing large data-center builds: SB Energy is developing 8.8
GW of capacity in the US with estimated capex of about $174 billion, and the
group plans a 5 GW data-center project in France.
