CXMT is preparing a NAND flash R&D production line at its new Beijing fab and has set up a Beijing research institute working on NAND development. The company has discussed its NAND plans with customers, including a newly formed startup that intends to buy its NAND for AI systems and supercomputing storage. It is unclear when the R&D line will start operating or whether CXMT will scale from R&D and pilot runs to mass commercial production.
