China's Financial Regulatory Administration updated its leadership page to show Cai Dong has been named a Party Committee member. Cai, born Oct 1968 with a PhD in economics, has spent his career in the financial system — senior roles include president of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) Tianjin branch, vice president of China Development Bank (CDB) and vice president of Agricultural Bank of China (ABC). He served as Jilin vice governor from Oct 2019 and later as executive vice governor overseeing development and reform, finance and energy. In a Sept. 8 provincial economic briefing he emphasized preventing and defusing risks.
