Punchbowl News reports CENTCOM told a congressional defense panel that, as of
Sept. 3, estimated U.S. military costs for operations against Iran total $43.6
billion. About $11.2 billion was for operations, $28.1 billion for replenishing
ammunition expended during the conflict, and $4.3 billion to replace lost
equipment. The figures were submitted for review to congressional national
security committees and show ammunition replenishment is the largest cost
component.
