Shandong's Industry and Information Technology Department has published a draft
implementation plan for the province's 15th Five-Year development of high-end
chemicals for public comment. The draft targets annual value-added growth of the
provincial chemical sector of more than 5% and aims for high-end chemical
products to account for about 65% of the industry's economic output by 2030. It
proposes three priority actions—strengthen basic chemicals, build up new
chemical materials, and upgrade fine chemicals—and sets strategic direction
across 16 sub-sectors, including petrochemical, coal-chemical and salt-chemical
industries.
