Malaysia's Transport Minister Lu Zhaofu resigned on the 19th after a Democratic
Action Party (DAP) Central Executive Committee meeting that discussed the
party's response to a conditional pardon allowing former prime minister Najib to
serve the remainder of his sentence under home detention. DAP, the largest party
in the ruling coalition, counts Lu as its secretary-general. Lu said his
resignation was a protest against the pardon and that other DAP ministers would
not resign.
