China's online retail of goods and services rose 4.6% YoY in Jan‑Aug 2026, with
goods up 4.3% and services up 5.1%, National Bureau of Statistics data showed.
MOFCOM estimates e‑commerce contributed 1.3 percentage points to overall retail
sales growth over the period. MOFCOM big‑data monitoring showed faster growth in
digital and health categories: online sales of mobile phones and outdoor apparel
climbed 6.8% and 6.9% YoY. Instant retail transaction value posted double‑digit
YoY growth, and on major e‑commerce platforms online sales of tourism and
lifestyle services jumped 23.8% and 15.6% YoY, respectively. MOFCOM said Silk
Road e‑commerce partner countries continued to expand, deepening international
trade cooperation.
