Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, told Al
Jazeera on Sept. 19 that Tehran has relayed its negotiation terms to Washington
via mediators Qatar and Pakistan. He said Iran’s message was that if the US
wants to extricate itself from the predicament it created and avoid deeper
entanglement, it has no option but to accept Iran’s terms. Rezaei said
conditions to restart talks include unfreezing Iran’s frozen funds; ending all
active war fronts, including in Lebanon; non‑interference in Iran’s internal
affairs; no collusion with domestic opposition; and lifting any maritime
blockade.
