Paramount has reached settlements with California and other state governments
that sued to block its proposed acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, people
familiar with the matter said. After an arrangement with California, four other
states that had opposed the deal accepted the settlement terms, sources said,
with negotiations advancing over the weekend. The settlements are expected to be
announced later and would remove a key regulatory hurdle to one of the largest
M&A transactions in Hollywood history.
