Brent crude futures fell below $100 per barrel for the first time since Sept. 9.

At a State Council Information Office briefing on the 15th Five-Year period, an official from the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration said China will deepen a quality-grain programme to raise industry quality and efficiency. The grain sector is expected to achieve annual industrial gross output above 4.5 trillion yuan during the 15th Five-Year period, aiding a shift in consumption from simply eating enough to eating better and more nutritiously.

Nasdaq-100 index gains widened to 2.5%.
