The Information reports OpenAI is developing new AI agent features to directly compete with SpaceX’s Grok Bot and Meta’s personal AI assistants. Insiders say the work targets persistent, background ‘assistant teams’ that can handle multi‑step tasks, manage software and collaborate — mirroring Grok Bot’s capabilities. OpenAI is also discussing a standalone personal assistant to counter Meta. The company may repackage and rename existing agent technology used in Codex and ChatGPT to accelerate deployment.
