Insiders say the work targets persistent, background ‘assistant teams’ that can handle multi‑step tasks, manage software and collaborate — mirroring Grok Bot’s capabilities. OpenAI is also discussing a standalone personal assistant to counter Meta. The company may repackage and rename existing agent technology used in Codex and ChatGPT to accelerate deployment. Some users already connect OpenAI apps to email, calendars and other services to auto‑schedule meetings, liaise with businesses and run multi‑day automated tasks.
