The U.S. Trade Representative will hold a public hearing on Sept. 22, 2026, on a Section 301 investigation into Germany's pharmaceutical policies.

On Sept. 22 CHINA STATE PLANNER policy research office deputy director Li Chao said professional agencies forecast an exceptionally strong El Niño this autumn–winter, peaking around year-end, with climate impacts likely to persist into next summer and adding substantial uncertainty to global food production. He said China’s agricultural production has the confidence, conditions and capability to respond.

At the morning close, China's most-active futures were mixed. Polysilicon, lithium carbonate, glass and benzene rose over 2%; international copper gained nearly 2%. Shanghai copper, coking coal and paraxylene advanced more than 1%. On the downside, ethylene glycol (EG) fell over 3%, asphalt dropped nearly 3% and propylene slid more than 2%.
