On Sept. 21, Shanghai’s municipal cyberspace office, together with the Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, the Shanghai Securities Regulatory Bureau and the Shanghai Stock Exchange, held the first multi-party forum on special online information governance for leading industries. The office said it will create more communication channels aligned with Shanghai’s leading-industry layout and intensify network governance focused on industry needs, lawfully handling illegal information, individual content creators and MCN entities to support high-quality development of integrated circuits, artificial intelligence and biopharmaceuticals.

U.S. stocks opened higher, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.49%, the S&P 500 up 0.09% and the Nasdaq Composite up 0.19% at the open. WESTERN DIGITAL CORP (WDC.O) fell 1.5%, SK Hynix (SKHY.O) fell 1.14% and Amazon.com (AMZN.O) fell 1.4%.
