CATL’s new cell factory in Debrecen, Hungary, began trial production on Sept 22 after completing required pre-conditions. The trial run will be used to debug, optimize and validate equipment and manufacturing processes ahead of formal mass production. During the trial period the Debrecen plant will maintain close coordination with the Hungarian government and regulators and uphold high standards for environmental protection and employee health and safety.

The dollar index DXY briefly rose to a seven-week high of 100.667 as oil volatility, the dollar's safe-haven appeal and expectations of further Fed hikes after last week's 25bp increase supported the currency.
