Lithium carbonate futures (contract 2701) weakened intraday, losses widening to 3.05% to 129,100 yuan/tonne. Turnover was about 22.485 billion yuan and open interest rose by 11,300 contracts on the day, indicating a notable position build.

Beijing, Sept 22, 2026 — The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and New Zealand’s Ministry of Cities, Environment, Regional and Transport held their second China–New Zealand new-energy vehicle (NEV) dialogue in Beijing, co-chaired by MIIT chief engineer Wang Weiming and New Zealand deputy minister Chris Nies. Both sides said the dialogue mechanism will continue to support policy and industry cooperation in the NEV sector and builds on the first meeting in Wellington in December; relevant MIIT departments attended.
