Sept 22 — Foreign ministers of Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia met during the 81st UN General Assembly general debate and expressed deep concern about the humanitarian disaster in Gaza. They urged Israel to immediately implement obligations in the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, including ensuring safe, unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid and supplies; to stop all violations and any forced displacement of Palestinians; and to halt settlement expansion and hold settlers accountable for violence. The ministers called for advancing a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as capital and urged sustained U.S. engagement to ensure all parties, including Israel, meet their obligations and commitments.

OECD now expects Saudi Arabia's economy to contract 1.8% in 2026, down from a prior forecast of 3.2% growth.
