At the China International Information and Communications Expo, Ministry of
Industry and Information Technology vice minister Yu Xiaohui said China will use
the 15th Five-Year Plan period to moderately front‑load and systematically
advance next‑generation communications network construction. Planned measures
include an application‑led rollout; evolving broadband toward dual 10‑Gbit/s
capability; building low‑Earth‑orbit satellite internet systems; optimizing
international submarine and terrestrial network layouts; expanding and upgrading
computing facilities; and strengthening compute‑network coordination and
interconnection to support an integrated compute network.
