Local afternoon Sept. 23, Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Washington, D.C., to begin a state visit to the United States at the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump. Xi and his wife Peng Liyuan were met on arrival at Andrews Air Force Base by President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
