On Sept. 24 at the White House, Chinese President Xi met US President Trump. Xi
said economic and trade cooperation is a central foundation of China‑US ties,
that the countries’ interests are deeply intertwined with broad scope for
cooperation, and urged both sides to move toward each other, maintain a
mutual‑benefit orientation, and push China‑US economic and trade relations to
develop steadily and positively. On technology, Xi said both countries are major
AI powers that can compete and cooperate, called for continued AI dialogue on
risks and benefits, and urged joint efforts to prevent AI misuse. On the Middle
East, Xi said China supports the US and Iran returning to the Islamabad
memorandum and urged both sides to resume dialogue and negotiations toward a
comprehensive agreement, including nuclear issues, to restore peace.
