Refinitiv reported Solidigm, SK Hynix’s US SSD unit, is considering an IPO as early as next year with a potential valuation of up to $150 billion. The unit held banker pitch meetings this week and may seek roughly $15 billion of proceeds, but size and timing are early-stage and market-dependent. Based in California, Solidigm was created after SK Hynix bought Intel’s NAND and SSD business for about $9 billion in 2020 and spun it out in 2021. Solidigm supplies enterprise SSDs to servers, cloud and data centers and is targeting large-capacity storage for AI workloads. A $150 billion valuation would far exceed recent semiconductor IPOs such as Arm (~$54 billion at listing in 2023) and Cerebras (~$56 billion at IPO in 2026).
