China foreign minister said that ahead of Xi Jinping's state visit, US-China
trade teams held a new round of talks and agreed a joint package including
creation and advancement of a trade council and an investment council, an
agriculture working group, $30 bln of reciprocal tariff cuts, and deferral of
Kuala Lumpur trade-consultation outcomes. He said the measures stabilize
bilateral trade ties and market confidence and are positive for industry,
households and the global economy, and warned that US moves to politicize trade,
restrict Chinese investment and push decoupling would damage mutual interests
and shrink areas of overlap.
