Socar, TotalEnergies and XRG, a unit of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), have approved a project to raise Caspian gas output from the Absheron condensate field. Phase II is due to begin production in 2029, lifting the field to about 6 bln cubic meters of gas per year and 47,000 barrels per day of condensate; Phase I has supplied Azerbaijan’s domestic market and the expansion will enable gas exports to Turkey via existing infrastructure linking Azerbaijan to European markets.
