Hong Kong Financial Secretary Paul Chan will depart late on Sept. 26 for Doha to attend the 11th Board of Governors annual meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), themed Tomorrow’s Infrastructure: Impact and Innovation. The meeting will convene government officials, multilateral development institutions and business leaders to discuss sustainable infrastructure, cross-border connectivity, green finance and digital transformation. Chan will attend multiple sessions and deliver a keynote on digital public infrastructure. He is scheduled to depart Doha in the early hours of Sept. 29 (Qatar time) and return to Hong Kong the same afternoon (Hong Kong time).

Shanxi Governor Lu Dongliang chaired a provincial meeting on coal safety and stable production and supply, urging accelerated resumption of operations and stabilization of output and deliveries while strictly upholding safety standards. He called for reversing the recent decline in coal production and rebuilding the province’s coal-industry ecosystem to support national energy security and meet household energy demand.
