President Trump said he has approved new fuel-economy standards and rescinded a
Biden-era electric-vehicle mandate. He said the changes will eliminate waste in
U.S. vehicle production, lower consumer prices and save buyers thousands of
dollars. Trump added that automakers including GM, Ford and Stellantis contacted
his administration seeking to expand U.S. production, and that auto-sector
investment has topped $100 billion under his government.
