At the AIIB annual board meeting in Qatar, President Zou Jiayi said the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank plans to double its annual approved lending to roughly $20bn by 2030. Zou said the expansion will be accompanied by business-model and loan-product innovation to speed project delivery and improve development impact, and that the bank will maintain an open, multilateral approach to deepen regional connectivity and add greater certainty to global sustainable development.

Zibo has opened an embodied-intelligence robot training facility co-built by Zibo High-tech Zone and Shandong Zhixing Intelligent Embodied Co. The site has deployed over 40 robots across six live industry scenarios—industrial welding, medical-device sorting, power operations and maintenance, chemical inspection, flexible ceramics manufacturing and elder-care patrol—and will continue collecting data on navigation/obstacle avoidance, object grasping, precision manipulation and human‑machine interaction to accelerate integration of embodied intelligence with local industries.

EU interior ministers and officials met in Germany on Sept. 26 to discuss tighter border controls and enhancing emergency rapid-response capacity. German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt urged creation of an EU rapid-return procedure to address a surge of illegal migrants into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta since late July; Spanish government data show about 10,000 migrants remain in Ceuta.
