Officials say the surprise receipts give the government room to raise spending without matching increases in borrowing; the 2027 budget proposal would direct most of the semiconductor-related windfall to AI, chip support and youth programs while limiting bond issuance and building a fiscal buffer.

LG Electronics said it has joined NVIDIA (NVDA.O)'s official AI data-center cooling solutions partner program and was named the NVIDIA Partner Network's preferred partner in the Power & Cooling category. The Korean firm said it will target hyperscale data centers and colocation, with a focus on North America, which accounts for more than 60% of demand for new global data-center capacity.
