At the open, China's main futures front-month contracts were mixed with more
winners than losers. Asphalt led gains, up nearly 4%; methanol and benzene rose
about 3%; fuel oil, SC crude and low-sulfur fuel oil (LU) advanced over 2%; LPG
and propylene gained close to 2%. On the downside, Shanghai silver fell more
than 3%; lithium carbonate slid about 2%; live hogs, red dates, platinum, coking
coal, Shanghai gold and glass each declined over 1%.
